I was in the loading bay and about to go through the entrance that led to the sublevel when I was surprised to see the chief bartender pop out of nowhere... he told me that I had frightened him and I let him know that a door coming at me was no picnic either... he laughed and said that he had tried to look out the window to see if there were any rats crawling around outside and confirmed that all the girls were scared to come down there... there was not much I could do about it so I just shrugged my shoulders and continued my normal duties.

I ran into one of the back-shop boys while he was unloading garbage from his golf cart... he complained about the rodents as well and I probably made it worse when I told him they could sneak up on him and start nibbling... he confessed he was a little worried about that... I pointed out the fact that he didn't have any rear-view mirrors and wished him well... I can be a muck raker once in a while but the awful truth is that I live in a province that allows the rat population to thrive... one of the downsides to spaying or neutering your cats is lack of predators to eat the critters... if we are going to institute a program where there are less felines then we should have a "rat patrol" like Alberta does... from what I can see it wouldn't be too hard to catch them because these scavengers are the size of small dogs anyways.
