Water is supposed to be good for you but the truth of the matter is, it is so boring to drink! Water has no taste and for me, drinking water is such a burden on my tastebuds. Still, I grind my teeth constantly and get on with the habit of hydrating myself on a regular basis.

I read somewhere that you are supposed to be drinking at least 8 to 12 glasses or cups of water per day, that sounds like a lot and it is but if it is doing the body good then why not. So, I have been recording my intake of water which started yesterday. Yesterday I had my first round of 12 glasses throughout the day and this is quite funny but I was recording my water intake on a tally system so that I would know how much I had taken in. One glass of water equals one line and so forth.

I read that if you are not taking in enough water your urine can have quite an odour and may be dark in colour. Well, this was the case with me but since I had my water intake yesterday, at the end of the day my urine was odourless and clear, a very good sign that I was on the right track, not the best of details to get into but it helps to explain the benefits.

So, this is day two and I am going through my water intake again. I have to say that I do feel more alert and I am not sure whether this relates to the sudden change or not.

I exercise at the gym regularly and swim so it is vital that I drink lots of water. Anyway, I am pleased with my progress.

So, even though water is not high on my agenda in terms of favourite drinks I will do it because I do believe in the benefits of it. As a result of drinking a lot more water I suddenly find that I am reducing my intake of tea and I drink quite a few cups of tea throughout the day.

So, get your water in if you are not doing this at present. Considering we are made of 70 per cent water I think it's the best thing you can do.
