New York City- A bomb exploded in the Port Authority in Downtown Manhattan, New York City during the height of the morning rush hour this morning. Authorities claim that only one person was injured. That person was the suspect himself who had a pipe bomb strapped to himself. Witnesses say the man in his twenties was seen being led out of the port authority by police and put in an unmarked car which sped away.

The man taken away as police was Akayed Ullah, a 27 year old Bangladeshi immigrant who came to the U.S. in 2011 and is now a lawful, permanent U.S. Resident. Ullah was employed as an electrical worker and used his skills to wire a pipe bomb and strapped it to himself. Fortunately, the Pipe bomb did not detonate the way Ullah wanted and there were no deaths. The bomb injured Ullah somewhat severely and two commuters walking near him had minor injuries. Ullah told authorities that he was inspired by ISIS videos he watched online. Transit Authority Surveillance videos show him boarding a subway train in Brooklyn and exploding the bomb under the Port Authority Terminal.

The Port authority is a major bus terminal and subway stop 1 block away from famed 42nd Street in the Theater District of New York City. 42nd Street is a major tourist attraction and The Port Authority is one of New York’s major transportation hubs. It is a suspected act of Terrorism.
