My eyes need rest,
My mind is restless
Due to what my eyes endured
In previous watchful hours

My heart is beating
Awoken by echoes of frantic footsteps,
My feet travelling
Even when they are still

My head in a pillow
Sinking into nothing
But wrathful worries
And sleepless nights

I am nothing but a body
Detached from within,
There is no presence here
Just memories of before
