The Western Shore

We’ve finally reached the point of no return,
The city of our childhood is buried too deep,
In ashes we stumble, as the trail disappears,
It’s no longer a place, just a memory we keep.

We've got to find a way,
To a better place

The bridge is burning and the river’s high.
But there are people waving from the Western side,
We can’t swim these rapids, the current’s strong,
But we will win this battle and cross this divide.

I know we’ll find a way
I swear we’ll find a way,
Soon we’ll find a way
to a better place.

We can mend these burning trestles, cross this river wide,
And stand up with the people on the Western shore.
Our path into the future shall be traveled as one,
A world for our children, divided no more

I know we’ll find a way
I swear we’ll find a way,
Soon we’ll find a way
to a better place.
