Firstly, to begin with I am WritingMyHeart. That is my pen name, it can be quite simple but it's simply true. I know pen names are old fashioned but I find old things inspiring, I mean I adore the thought of sitting down at a desk in front of a type-writer whilst every wall surrounding me is filled with books from top to bottom, that would be the ultimate thing for me.

Writing is my life, it's a passion I have loved from a young age. Creativity is such a key role in my life. My imagination is my escape from the real world; I love to get lost in words. Reading is another passion I love, just the thought of indulging in a book and getting so involved and hypnotized in the characters and the plot is truly amazing. I find reading beautiful. Two must reads; To Kill A Mockingbird - Harper Lee and The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitzgerald, amazingly beautiful books.

I'm whoever my mind says I am.
I've been a person with a low self-esteem, a woman married to a man who not only stomped on my ideas and dreams, he laughed in my face, and told that I was nothing without him. I was a married woman who felt so alone. I was a woman who felt like life didn't matter because I didn't matter.
Today I am a strong woman who woke up from thinking that I was nothing to knowing that I am a person who is worth listening to. A woman who raised four awesome individuals that ended up in one of the most prestigious Universities of Florida. That's right, ALL FOUR of them! I am a mother, a daughter, a sister, a girlfriend and most of all I am ME!

A committed author and poet, I have spent the last four years (and two years in Seoul, South Korea before that) teaching English in Beijing, China, where I have found, as well as hiking and many great lifelong friends, a lot of inspiration for my novels and poetry.

The shock and awe of living in the grey, smoggy Beijing suburb of Xi'erqi, when contrasted with the green splendour of the surrounding mountains has had a profound impact upon my poetical mind. As such I am currently compiling a collection of sonnets entitled "Made in China" that revolves around much of the people and environments I have directly come into contact with.

I am just a college student, who would of never thought that she would be writing just random thoughts or opinions.
It has just become a way of life for me to express myself through writing and it is GREAT!
