my dens
Military for 40 years without ever joining. 17 yrs with dad and 23 with the ex. Europe, central and south America, and the great United States of America, have been my playground. The life of a daughter, wife, mother and now a 15 year divorcee of men who had dreams and daughters I no longer know. I lived dreams beyond anything I could have imagined. I just went with it and the ride was awesome, even if filled with challenges. Dreams of espionage and dangerous missions, families left behind .... Well that was them, yes and me, but my story is yet to be told. I wonder if I really have a dream, a story. Well I'm about to find out. I'm just gonna write..write here. That was then this is now.

IF I should take this seriously
a warning must be given.
who knows why wizards get driven
boards by ganks from enemy riven.
teams seem to rely on will to get the kill
I try to comply, rather I have to fill
my bags not so sour see; mostly treats
sweet eats all week, every 24 hours.
every tower must twin, I wonder why I wonder
when I underlie a grin I worry in unhurriedly..
puns I hive five,
to bee keep beneath the sky
sun shy, set shade under my eyes
say hello, state goodbye,
heart held, high weighted
my mind storm has migrated.
standards date and land near the love gate,
hand in hate, fears, the ropes co-relate
real 8 forgoes and shows that 7 has closed
dry thunder blows by.
Bless the Berry Bushes,
next seat to meet you, to be clear,
that cloud came to wander, ponder pain and pleasure,
same aim goes 2 whoever flows through
fuel blue, dead wood could burn true as well.
trees are my favorite, flowers are fine
wish we'd all make it, should time let us take it
looks like I'm naked
don't leak as a peer, water colors make me.
shake me, free to spill holding still
like a pill put me down whole
store soul all around
there's a hole, sound south pole
north polar now I round somewhat solar,
no doubt a way to layer, slay a player
fake tea out the cups.
cold youth, whose tooth I chose
but to brew, how best leaves should rest
lest we had sight, for that I'll gather,
rather handle over sleep,
canned candles, socks and sandals
in I go
for some well I dream to cave
knee deep in cabbages
only savages wont save
only streak I seek to break
for the sake of autumn
and the bottom of my lake bed.

Darren Scanlon was born in 1965 and lives in the Northwest of England. A typical 'northern lad', his sarcastic, tongue-in-cheek humour and writing style has earned him 5 Star Ratings on Amazon for both his novels and his poetry which he has been writing since the age of 18 and is published on websites including High On Poems where he has achieved much success and great reviews:
"We at High On Poems are blessed to have found such a treasure as you amongst our midst. Your poetry is thought provoking and shakes one up. You obviously are a powerful wielder of words!"
His work to date includes his debut comedy novel called Hey Up, Matron! A tough out loud, roller-coaster ride through a day in the life of a NHS hospital ward from the point of view of the long-suffering patients; two books into the gritty crime/gangster thriller Danny Roberts Series – Broken Angel – Broken Wings; four volumes of poetry, Positively Poetic Vol 1-4; an illustrated children’s novel, (based on one of his own poems), called A Mouse’s Tale and an illustrated children’s ABC book called Alphabet Zoo.

My head
Not much to say. I like to write, watch anime, play games and listen to music. The usual.
