Darren Scanlon was born in 1965 and lives in the Northwest of England. A typical 'northern lad', his sarcastic, tongue-in-cheek humour and writing style has earned him 5 Star Ratings on Amazon for both his novels and his poetry which he has been writing since the age of 18 and is published on websites including High On Poems where he has achieved much success and great reviews:
"We at High On Poems are blessed to have found such a treasure as you amongst our midst. Your poetry is thought provoking and shakes one up. You obviously are a powerful wielder of words!"
His work to date includes his debut comedy novel called Hey Up, Matron! A tough out loud, roller-coaster ride through a day in the life of a NHS hospital ward from the point of view of the long-suffering patients; two books into the gritty crime/gangster thriller Danny Roberts Series – Broken Angel – Broken Wings; four volumes of poetry, Positively Poetic Vol 1-4; an illustrated children’s novel, (based on one of his own poems), called A Mouse’s Tale and an illustrated children’s ABC book called Alphabet Zoo.
He is currently working on his latest novel, Way Back When, which is a comical look at childhood now and back in the 1970’s and how life has changed. Future projects are book 3 of Danny Roberts, an illustrated children’s poetry collection and another illustrated ABC book.

I am Zuzana, but I write under the pseudonym Maria Pelisek. You may know me as the author of the captivating book, "The Day I Packed for Heaven and When Death, Jesus, and I Met at the Crossroads."
I consider myself an ordinary girl, yet I have an extraordinary friend.
There was a time when I believed refusing chemotherapy and surviving was the most significant miracle of my life. But as I discovered, I was mistaken.
The true miracle lay in the empowering friendship that blossomed when I dedicated time to honestly knowing Him.
It all unfolded one serene Sunday afternoon. I earnestly implored God for a guiding light to conquer Death, and in a miraculous twist, He answered by presenting Himself as my guiding force.
Who would have thought that God is not just a distant idea, but a living presence among us?
