I took a class at USF that taught me that the original purpose of the Artist was to be the medicine man / woman of the tribe. That their purpose was to lead the tribe through the many seasons of life with wisdom and compassion and a prayerful ear on God. We were the ones in the back of the cave painting pictures on the walls and inspiring the tribe forward toward the hunt.
Many modern day Artists have become made to use their talents to paint/photograph pictures of toothpaste and automobiles in order to get the tribe to want the things that the world wants to sell. Some artists are very good craftsmen and create lovely things to buy. It is the rare One who is still the medicine man and I learned in that class that I am that rare one. Not everyone in that class or even many previous classes was declared to be the true Artist. I WAS signalled out and acknowledged by my Professor and the entire class.
It is not enough to carry within you the potential to be who you are. You must have the courage to actually Be It.
I am there Now and Today.
I hope I do what I am supposed to do and to say and convey what I need to; so that I fulfill my duties here on this earth.
I will try with all of my heart and I will pray that it will be of some good to some one.
thank you for reading this far
