The eight run of the PBS Kids cartoon Word Girl came to an end with the show "Rhyme And Reason". The studio that carried the cartoon since 2007 Soup 2 Nuts closed shop in March. Since the news of the reboots of the Spider Man franchise movies, Ghost Busters and Archie Andrews, could a reboot of the cartoon who is a parody of Superman could be in the near future? For the sake of Word Girl fans of all ages I certainly hope so. The silver lining in the dark cloud is that "Rhyme And Reason" had a happy ending. Okay so Word Girl is a kids cartoon and I doubt that PBS Kids would allow to have a sour ending like Superman The Animated Series and the Spider Man cartoons on Fox and Music To Vomit (MTV) did with the cartoon character created by Stan Lee. The one reason I liked "Rhyme And Reason" is that Word Girl cried when her best friend Violet Heaslip discovered his secret identity as Becky Botsford. Do I see any resemblence to the discovery of Lois Lane when she discovered that Clark Kent was Superman in "All Star Superman"? Of course my health permitting I will be able to do a fan fiction based on Rhyme and Reason with Word Girl and her monkey partner Captain Huggyface getting help from her loyal cousins Donna and Debi Isthmus to save the day. I am telling all Word Girl fans do not take the end of her show too seriously. Remember that Archie Andrews died in the comic books and there were reports that he would never return to the comic book land. Archie has been rebooted. Hopefully PBS Kids will release the whole set of the Word Girl show but since she is not on the good girls list of superheroes on PBS I doubt that will happen. The good deal is that maybe a group of diehard Word Girl fans or the writers of the cartoon can create a new minority female super hero in the future. Thank you Dannah Phirman, Tom Kenny and the rest of the actors and actresses who were part of the voice talent of the preteen hero that ran from 2007-2015. In the words of the late Al Davis "Take pride and be proud. Your commitiment to excellence will live forever."
