I saw a poem the other day
It said not all happiness should be written
And thrown away

We neglect times of joy
When dark times prevail

On plaform one:

Watch the beaten train
Waiting to derail

As it chugs along
We take for granted nature's song

A melancholy of dreams
Clasping at the seams

Can I not hold onto a little more light?
Before we tunnel steadily into the night

I'm writing this in hope of an answer
There's happiness here somewhere
Or at least I tried

My ticket's expired
I've been denied
