I'm merely telling you what I said
Slurping on a hot brew
At quarter past two
If you disagree
To what degree?
Does it bother you
That you can't say "me too"?
You're sitting on my sofa
Faffing about
I'm watching steam spew from your ears
Because what I said has filled you with doubt
You think differently
Does that mean I need to voice my words inconspicuously?
Don't be offended
Your offence won't leave me suspended
A waste of energy on your part
Keep nibbling on my homemade, bitter tart
I have every right
To tell you what I think is right
If you don't agree
Then see my door and exit happily
For you have your mind
And I have mine
Two minds that cross each other's paths
Sharing tea and biscuits
And then depart
To learn and grow afar
Then come back
Reborn
To share again
So once the kettle has passed boiling point and the crumbs have been
Swept away
We await that meet
At the coffee shop
Releasing clenched fists
Watching our shopping bags drop
At quarter past one
We see another day where differences are undone
And two minds begin to unify
Over a brew or two
