As I’ve wandered through this life,
On my way to all the mysteries.
waiting on the other side.
Each entry gave perspective,
Questions, answers, or a plan
I never knew what I would find,
When I crossed the threshold line.
I chose which doors to open,
Though every portal had it’s price.
If I paid the toll and moved ahead,
I'd find a gate closed once or twice.
There were doors that brought contentment,
With tender lovers and dear old friends,
And though it can’t be measured
To any distance or degree
We’ve found the greatest treasure
You and me.
I’ve passed through many doorways,
As I’ve wondered through this life,
I often missed a step or two,
Trying to reach the other side.
Each exit gave a different view,
Different answers, changing plans
I never knew what I would find,
What a particular doorway had in mind,
When I crossed the threshold line.
