The greyness of the day cannot shade
nor cause me to be afraid.
Bleakness cascades
to envelop the promenade
and cause a flurried parade
when showers burst into heavy rain
and overflow sewer drains.

Some express extreme disdain.
From upset I can refrain.
My words won't stain
nor will I feel any pain.
Brightness can internally remain.

My spirits won't be sprained
by external strains.
