This drought goes on and on and on,
So now the rain’s my friend.
Please bring us water…
In this dry wasteland, every soul has thirst,
For all those good things,
But we all know what comes first.
We need our water, fresh water!
When your throat’s gettin’ dry,
And you’re lookin’ for a river that’s high,
There just ain’t a cloud in the sky,
You keep searchin’…
These empty pools and reservoirs,
Tell us how dried up we are,
We need some H2O
To see these rivers flow,
Free again!
The child El Nino inundated us with rain,
It seems like centuries ago,
Why did we complain?
Bring back that water.
So let the rain fall, in big, round droplets from on high,
And let the tortured Earth, drink up that water from the sky!
We need more water, water, fresh water!
When your throat’s gettin’ dry,
And you’re lookin’ for a river that’s high,
There just ain’t a cloud in the sky,
You keep searchin’…
These empty pools and reservoirs,
Tell us how dried up we are,
We need some H2O
To see these rivers flow,
Free again!
Thought California was the only place for me,
But a man can die of thirst,
In his castle by the sea,
Please bring us water, water,
Please bring us water, water
We need more water, water, FRESH WATER!
