My son describes my mind as an "encyclopedia of worthless shit"...
A quest for knowledge has never been his trip.
But his turns of phrase are interesting, to say the least,
and his sense of humour will rarely cease to please.

It does answer my question regarding his lack of drive in school--
"Just getting by", has always been his rule;
And as he notes, I'm always there to answer any of his queries
and when I'm not around, there's always the internet fairies.

My interest in learning was not passed down to him
even though he does ask many questions on a whim,
but he feels remembering the information is a useless art.
Is that the state of millenials--something that sets us apart?

To me it's strange that he denigrates my knowledge of trivia
when he himself has a vast storage of contemporary data.
But as my husband reminds me--his twos were never terrible.
It's his twenties that seem destined to put us in peril.

Oh sweet Will,
No matter what, I'll love you still...
