It's such a pleasure and a privilege to cook for my son
and his hon!
For me,
quarantine
is the sweetest of dreams.
I apologize for my happiness
and I truly have compassion for another's pain.
Others suffering can drive me insane.
But my son was gone for most of the past five years.
His absence brought tears,
fears,
worry, hurt, frustration, anxiety-grinding gears--
concerns no one wants to hear.

Sorry, but isolating with them makes me beam;
casting an ethereal glow
that brightens and enhances the night sky like a moonbow.

Of course I sympathize with the plight of the world,
but being stuck at home with my boy and his girl
is an unexpected pleasure,
one I will forever treasure.

I fear for your safety--I really do!
But if you dig deep to display the best in you,
we'll all make it through;
So whatever you're missing will come back to you
and we'll be better off after learning all there is to know
from a pandemic that's causing too many tears to flow.

Always look for the silver linings
to help you accept and deal with life's declinings.
