Only at my wedding, now just over 2 months ago, did I discover something amazing.

On and off throughout my life I've wanted to write but never had the confidence in myself to do it. Being bullied though school is not a great way to start adult life. No self esteem can really take it's toll.

My first publication was at the age of 12 where I had a poem published in a book with other young poets for my county. I still have a copy of that book and I still can't believe what I wrote at that age.

In more recent years I took a proofreading course which I really enjoyed. An online session finishing with a diploma in proofreading and editing. Sadly this didn't get me any work at all as I had no portfolio. This gave me lack of hope and consequently stopped writing.

Since then I made my discovery.

It was my Dad's speech at the wedding. Talking all about me and my now husband and all the normal stuff his speech turned a corner to my childhood. It was then the revelation happened.

After all this time I discovered that I truly was destined to work with words.
According to his speech my early schooldays were clearly not advanced enough for English lessons. Whilst the class were learning how to spell 'cat' and 'dog' etc I was spelling 'incredible'. Which is truly that.

This food for thought has revived my love of writing which is why I'm here now. I have taken up a course of copywriting and have also published a small book of 10 short stories.

I've only sold about 25 copies but even that is 'incredible'!
