The Dallas Cowboys will be taking on the Green Bay Packers next Sunday afternoon at Lambeau Field in Green Bay Wisconsin in the National Football Conference Divisional Playoff Game. It will be the first time the two teams will play against each in a playoff setting in Green Bay since the Ice Bowl on December 31 1967.
The Packers won that playoff game by a final score of 21-17 in one of the greatest football games in the history of the National Football League. The Packers advanced to Super Bowl II where they defeated the Oakland Raiders by a final score of 33-14. The late Vince Lombardi who was the coach of the Packers before he resigned to remain as the Packers general manager.
Fast forward to 2015 where the National Football Conference Division game will be contested in Lambeau Field. The Packers are undefeated at home this football season while the Cowboys are undefeated on the road this football season. On Sunday one of the streaks will come to an end.
The concern for Packers fans is the health of starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers who has a strain on his left calf that will change the way he will have to lead the Packers to a win over the Cowboys. He will have to have protection from his offensive lineman.
The winner of the this playoff game will be play the winner of the Carolina Panthers versus the Seattle Seahawks football game that will be played in Seattle Washington. The Seahawks are the defending Super Bowl champions while the Panthers are the defending National Football Conference South Division champions.
Enjoy the football playoffs sports fans this weekend. May the best teams win their respective playoff games. The weather forecast in Green Bay is going to be a high of 22 degrees with a low of 3 degrees. I doubt that the repeat of the Ice Bowl weather will happen next Sunday. Keep your fingers crossed.
