In life, there are three types of happiness: honest, fake, and true happiness. Honest happiness is the most difficult to achieve and you only know you have felt it when you're in the exact moment.
Fake happiness is simple to achieve and almost everyone will experience it on a daily basis. Maybe a friend recieved a higher grade on the math exam. While you feel happy for them, it is difficult to bypass that feeling of jealousy, anger, or dissapointment. It's not as much fake, but half happiness; half of you is happy they recieved a good grade and half of you is angry you did not do better on your test.
True happiness is best explained in a description. Imagine waking up with the sun gleeming through your window, warming your waking body and filling the room with a soft glow. The sky is a bright, baby blue, and clouds float by like ships on a steady ocean. Somewhere in the distance a morning dove begins to sing and preach to the world that morning has come. You are relaxed and comfortable and while some things may be missing from your life, in that moment you feel truly happy with where you are at the moment.
Finally, honest happiness. Again, a description is best. Imagine the scene from true happiness and now add your husband or boyfrind/girlfriend laying with you. Their heartbeat is music to your ears and in that moment, everything is perfect. You have everything you want and can honestly say I am happy.
Honest happiness is like winning the lottery and winning powerball on the same day. It is difficult to explain how you feel when you have reached this happiness. For me, it was silence. I sat in silence with the person I loved and that was all I needed. His prescence was all I had needed and wanted, but I never knew that until that moment. I felt honestly happy. I was happy with myself, my life, my decisions, and my choices for the first time.
I wish I could explain the feeling better, but it just...is. Everyone will feel it someday and when you do feel it remember that moment. Write about it after or do something so you remember how honest happiness feels.
